OPSEL is a computer software tool for optimum selection in tree breeding. In the report the user is guided through installing and running the software.

To the Swedish page

OPSEL is a fully-integrated software tool that uses mathematical programming for optimized selection in tree breeding, both for selection of seed orchard and breeding populations. The tool maximizes the genetic value of a population selected from a list of candidates, while imposing a constraint on acceptable genetic diversity.

Read the report "OPSEL 2.0: a computer program for optimal selection in forest tree breeding" for instructions to installing and using the software.

OPSEL and its supporting software tools are freely available from Skogforsk for research and non-commercial use.

OPSEL is updated and improved continuesly. Sign up here to get an e-mail when a new version of OPSEL is released.
