Taper functions for Picea abies (L.) Karst. and Pinus sylvestris L. in Sweden

In most cases in forestry planning, the only diameter available is the diameter that can be practically measured in the field, i.e. the diameter within reach for a human from the ground. If the forestry planning should have a chance of describing the diameter at a higher position in the tree, then a taper function must be used.
